:thoughts on homeschool // current reads:

i am constantly searching the internet for book recommendations for my young readers. i delight in good book list. so i thought i'd share a few of our current reads to inspire you.

these are books that i read aloud to the children as they do some type of art project or before bed snuggled on the couch.

The Courage of Sarah Noble
a short book about young Sarah Noble and her adventure of traveling with her father at age eight and living with an indian family for a short time. we are all about books that inspire bravery in our young ones and this one did the trick.

The Story of Squanto: First Friend to the Pilgrims
this book follows the journey of Squanto, a young indian boy that was taken captive by the englishmen. He later became friends and a peacemaker between the indian tribes and early settlers.

Changes for Kaya
another great story of a little one that is faced with fear but chooses courage.

Strawberry Girl
we haven't started this one yet but it follows a family settling in florida and their passion for their strawberry crop in the midst of heat and droughts.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy
we finished the lion, the witch and the wardrobe during the summer and are very excited to continue in this series!
