:the charming gardeners:

the temperature rises while the days grow long. smack dab in the middle of the tired thirties i wrestle with the demands of this aging body. uninterrupted sleep is but a faded memory. quiet, unheard.

yet these are the days that i want to remember, hold dear and cherish now and always. these moments. the moments of baby belly giggles and snaggle-tooth. the white blond hair, unkept, on that gorgeous boy of mine. the little girl who turns into a young lady while i blink.

the moments of being needed in the night and far too early in the morning. the moments of cheerios and blueberries strewn throughout the floors. tiny shoes, mismatched, always searching for the missing culprit. the days of so and so touched me and refereeing more than i'd like.

days of endless hugs, kisses and cuddling. the days of sitting shoulder to shoulder reading book after book with only a request for more. yes, these truly are THE DAYS. let us live full in them, every last one.

  1. Beautiful, beautiful pictures and and words. Living in and cherishing each moment seems to be this year's theme. Do (did) you watch The Office? I loved what one of the characters said in the finale: "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them." It resonated so well with what God has been teaching me this year. I love looking at my now with a "best days of my life" lens... it makes what is sweet all the sweeter and what is ugly seem much more trivial.
    Blessings on your day, friend!

  2. Love the pictures! I haven't slept through the night in just over five years (my daughter just turned five in March), but those little "Momma" whispers I hear from my two year old son at 4am are some of the sweetest memories I'll cherish. Great post, and yes, even though they wear us out sometimes, we only have that one time to remember that sweet time.
