{a fun way to keep the kiddos busy}

i came across these adorable little floor mats at target ($2.50).
one is blue with a whale and the other pink with an elephant.

we call them our {reading mats}.

just lay them anywhere- i chose the door by the kitchen this time because it was snowing and i wanted the kiddos to enjoy the view. then put a big box of books beside them and spread some of their favorites all around.

i made a big deal about how they get to use their {reading mats} and read their favorite books to one another. they were super excited! well, eisley was super excited. durgin just follows suit.

they looked at different books and giggled together and shared. it was precious guys...seriously precious!

i want my children to love books and learning. afterall...

  1. I think it's a shark. Not a whale. Going by the dorsal fin and sharp teeth.

  2. alright mr. beaver.....i didn't look at it correctly!! you are a picking fella about names of animals! i heart you anyway!

  3. it's all about the little things :) at school I let my kids "read on the rug" when they're finished with their work...they LOVE it! happy snow days!

  4. love this! we have the dr. suess quote in our playroom by our reading pillows :)

  5. Hi Melissa! You left a comment on my blog sale post, but I wasn't able to reply back to your comment. I can combine shipping so it would be $5 for the first items and an additional $2.50 for any other items added. If you wouldn't mind shooting me an e-mail I'll be happy to answer any of your questions! :)
